Job Opening: Landscape Designer


Job Duties:  

  • Site Analysis: Conducting a thorough analysis of the site, taking into consideration factors such as topography, soil conditions, climate, drainage patterns, and existing

vegetation. This analysis helps us understand the unique characteristics and constraints of the site, which inform the owner’s design decisions.

  • Conceptual Design: Based on the site analysis and client's preferences, The designer will create a conceptual design that outlines the overall vision and layout for the outdoor space.

This includes elements such as hardscapes (e.g., paths, patios, decks), softscapes (e.g., plants, trees, lawns), water features, lighting, and other design elements.

  • Client Collaboration: Work closely with the client to understand their needs, preferences, and budget. They may conduct meetings, presentations, and site visits to ensure that the design

aligns with the client's vision and requirements. They also provide guidance and recommendations based on their expertise to help the client make informed decisions.

  • Sustainability and Environmental Considerations: Have a responsibility to design landscapes that are environmentally sustainable and ecologically responsible. This may include

incorporating native plants, using water-efficient irrigation systems, designing for proper stormwater management, and selecting materials that are environmentally friendly.

  • Construction Documents: Once the conceptual design is approved, he will also create detailed construction documents that include plans, specifications, and other technical details.

These documents serve as a guide for contractors to implement the design on site.

  • Maintenance Planning: Consider the long-term maintenance of the landscape design. They may provide recommendations for ongoing care and maintenance, such as pruning,

fertilization, and pest control, to ensure that the landscape remains healthy and beautiful over time.

  • Compliance with Codes and Regulations: Must also ensure that their designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant laws. He may obtain permits and

work with regulatory agencies to ensure that the design meets all required standards.

  • Continued Professional Development: He is required to stay up to date with the latest developments in our field, including advancements in design trends, technologies, and

sustainability practices. He may participate in professional development programs, attend workshops, conferences, and engage in ongoing learning to enhance his knowledge and skills.


Job Requirements: Job entails working with and requires master’s in landscape architecture or equivalent degree with 1 year of experience including: 

  • Auto CAD

  • Adobe Suite

  • SketchUp

  • Lumion

  • Site Survey

  • Construction Drawings

Zeterre will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

Zeterre will accept a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in one of the requisite fields followed by 1 year of experience in Landscape Designer, Architecture Designer or related experience.
